WASTE MANAGEMENT PROJECT
Kerala, India and in fact the whole world, are drowning in garbage. Our land and seas are being filled with plastic. Our landfills and garbage dumps are overflowing. Garbage in the landfills and the uncollected garbage on our streets emit noxious fumes, affecting the health of the nation and causing disease and illness. The human, health, societal and environmental costs grow as the amount of waste continues to grow. No one can deny that this is a massive problem. The way to deal with this massive problem is to recognise and accept the need to address it through action that results in reduced production of the garbage as well as dealing with the waste that currently exists – a complete waste management system with the goals of clean-up, zero waste and reduction of new waste. This can be done through combining technologies to collect, sort, treat, recycle, and reuse all waste to produce products and create energy, and to continue research to find alternatives to plastic. Company intends to create and implement this system in Kerala, becoming a role model for what can be done not only throughout India, but also internationally.
